Screenplay by: Courtney Fernández

An American divorcee and a humble Korean businessman navigate an undeniable attraction that awakens their sense of purpose and drives them towards each other.

“I Found You in Busan” is an original drama that illustrates love in many dimensions. The story shows that true love can be both selfish and selfless, and keeping faith in it will always lead you back to the one you are meant to be with.”

Sophie and Minjun, two people who quickly recognize a deep and soulful connection, struggle to allow themselves the space to explore the undeniable bond they have developed while on vacation in Busan. With Minjun’s pending nuptials in Seoul, and Sophie’s inevitable return to her home in California, the two are forced to recognize their personal limits and expectations for themselves, and for each other. A final chance encounter, that solidifies their belief that something is bringing them together, sets the stage for them each to do the right thing for one another. As each tries to move forward with their lives, the sad realities and impacts of failing to choose each other takes hold, until an orchestrated reunion a few years later allows for one last chance at love and a life well-lived.

I Found You in Busan is a reflection on the way life sometimes pulls us towards someone unexpectedly, evoking a sense of personal purpose and direction that we had not considered. This story explores the limits of how far good people will go to understand personal boundaries and expectations for those we love, and to discover if immediate satisfaction is the right thing to do. The viewer will see that love lives in many dimensions, and will always answer the questions of the heart with integrity and time.

“When love finds you, you can’t run from it, you can’t deny it… you just have to live with it.”

I Found You in Busan is storytelling that takes the viewer on a journey to explore selfless love, proving that courage is the key to happiness in every facet of life. True love will test your character and convictions, but it will never leave you.

The story pays homage to the Korean Drama genre of filmmaking. This is the story that will make you remember that “when you know you found the right person, the path back to each other will find you.”
